Up Top Morning Everyone!
I hope this newsletter finds everyone relaxing on a Sunday.
Prayers for all the people who are suffering through the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Watching Kansas City news brings up all my memories of Hurricane Beryl.
I was amazed to see how quickly help from Kansas City organized to come to the aid of Floridians.
Wonderful to see how large countries can mobilize.
Helene was a powerful storm that didn’t give up easily. At the breakfast table this morning my daughter reported that my son-in-law’s brother and his family in the Carolinas are experiencing flooding, no internet, and limited power.
One thing is for sure. Hurricanes are unpredictable events from Mother Nature.
Marshall and I will be better prepared for the next one. Which could happen any day now. Marshall reports this is the most active rainy season he has known.

More and more I hear people talking about Global Warming. This Hurricane Season has been fueled by the overheated waters of the Atlantic.
I pray that soon all will calm down.
Speaking of calming down
Our Veranda has been calm. When it rains Jamaicans including their animals stay at home.
It’s dangerous to drive in Jamaica on a sunny day let alone when torrential rains come.
Marshall has sent me videos of flooded cities from across the island. I have never seen so many vehicles with water up to their windshield.
I have a better understanding of why Jamaicans don’t like the rain. I constantly tease Marshall that he will not melt. Now I see he might well float away!

Banana plants are not stopping
My favorite Bumpy Banana plants are still bearing stalks. Hands and hands of bananas! I am astounded at how prolifically they spread and produce!

The Jamaican motto, Out of many, one, is reversed when it comes to bananas! It’s out of one, many.
One banana plant has now grown about seven plants! That’s even with Hurricane Beryl uprooting several big plants.
Happy doctor outcomes
I am happy to write that each Doctor I have visited has given me good reports. My General Practitioner, Eye Doctor, and Dermatologist have all been pleased with my progress.
I only have a couple more doctor parties to go. I think I’m on a roll! I’m sticking to it.
I say often, just like Hippocrates, “Let food be thy medicine”.
Last visit they wanted to prescribe Statins for my elevated HDL. I told them to let me see if I couldn’t lower my score with lifestyle, food, and exercise. I was careful with oils, only OVVO and Coconut Oil. I ate two bananas nearly every day. Dry coconut nearly every day. Drank lots and lots of water.
All of us are different, but when we put our mind to it I think we can make huge changes in our health. We need to read, research, try new ideas out, be mindful of what our bodies tell us, and change up as we monitor ourselves. Observe regular check-ups with important testing. Find physicians you trust and stick with them.

Till next week! No doubt, I will be complaining about the cold weather coming in for fall here.
I’m praying the rain stops in Jamaica. Rain is delaying Marshall’s important business.
Thank you for joining us here today.
Blessings from Kansas City!
It's lovely to see Marshall is sending you regular updates of how the kittens are doing - you know me, I look for their pix first 😻 They look healthy and purrfect - hope mom & dad are getting along too. Glad to hear your medical appointments went well. Hope you have a great week ahead!
The kitten are so adorable! And those bananas look delicious and super cute.
I am sending blessings and I hope the rains get milder.. As I have read, due to climate change, the hurricane season is getting longer, it doesn’t sound too good 😕 Sending prayers to all those affected 🙏
